AND MRS, WILLIAM BARKER Family, Friends Honor Couple Celebrating 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. William Barker, Verdun Road, who celebrated their golden wedding anniver- sary just recently, were honored at a dinner given by their family at Sandalwood rest- aurant on Saturday evening, October 28. Thirty-five members of the family -- including grandchild- ren and great grandchildren attended. The anniversary bride wore a corsage of gold colored carnations on a deep blue all- over lace dress. The couple have seven chil- dren; two sons, Abner of Port Dalhousie, and William Jr. of Oshawa, also five daughters, Mrs. Edith Heard, Mrs. Fred Porter (Lily), Mrs. Morley Pow- ell (Dorothy), all of Oshawa and Mrs. Patrich O'Leary (Eve- lyn), Mrs. Raymond Saeger (Norma), both of Whitby. There are seventeen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. William Barker Jr. acted as master of ceremonies for the dinner with Mr. Fred Porter announcing the blessing. Mr. Raymond Saeger proposed the toast to the honored couple.
