Looking back «we recall«a few of these comrades, "George "Walsh, 'Joe Milne, Bert 'Holbrook, 'Clarence Keith, Joe Dixon, "Ed. 'Holland, Albert Hudson and many -oth- ers. 'Also the-talents of -our' ha- dies 'Auxiliary. MWe ;recall too "the »assistance of:many loeal: citizens «who-also rendered their talent «to -help make sur. evenings «successful. We well remember the *Min- strel Show -which provided -our members with many «hours of entertainment -and -of the : time these comrades had 'trying 'to remove the burnt cork 'from their faces:after each show: Pienies in the summer 'for the entire family .were held at Lakeview .Park and 'Retary Park but the -most outstanding one was the exodus to.Canning- ton. This.was_ one of the largest attended picnics in the history of our organization .with .ap- proximately 5000 attending. Men, women and children .ar- rived in trucks, buses and ,old time jalopies. "The comrades will remember the ball game} that.was played-and the. trophy. that .was won that year. We must -not forget .the -en- joyable pot pie suppers put on and served the executive. Social evenings 'for the hard working committees were -also} days | these -committees -were .com-} held. 'In 'those pioneer prised of the -entire .member- ship. The children were not forgot- | ten either.
