Tony's committed five errors and every one figured in the scoring. Coach Sammy Stark sent Ted the hospital corridor and get-, Jones right back to the mound for Heffering's, using Reg Hickey in centre field for his hitting -- which was finally a payoff move in the sixth in- ning, when Hickey homered. Jones was in fine form. He gave up only four hits, two of these in the second frame, when George Brabin opened with a single and Jack Armstrong sin- gled after one out, for Tony's first run, They got their other two hits in the 7th, a two-bagger by Sam Smith and the 8th, when Brabin got his second hit of the game, to advance Art Rennick, who had walked to open the inning. Bill Horton grounded out to ad- vance the two runners and both scored on Jack Armstrong's left into left-centre, which Buzmin- ski got under and then dropped. Buzminski was the game's fop hitter, with. three hits, including his homer for the final run of the game, in the bottom of the 8th.
