'Mrz, Donald Fox read the minutes and Mrs. Lionel Hind gave the treasurer's report; also a report on the returns of the fall luncheon held recently. The Christmas bazaar date was set for Saturday, Decem- ber 2. The Georgette group of the Guild is having a display of Royal Doulton china to be held in the parish hall on Thursday, November 2. It was decided to have an executive meeting on Monday, October 16. The next regular meeting is to be held on Monday, Novem- ber 6. Mrs. Earnest Parker's group served tea. PMA CLUB The regular meeting of the Pleasant Monday Afternoon Club was held recently with the president, Mrs. Elwood Bradley presiding. The minutes were read by Mrs. Philip Bell in the absence of the secretary, Mrs. Duncan Nesbitt. Treasurer's report was given by Mrs. William Reed Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Raymond Dillabough, and Mrs. Robert Collison called the roll. Mrs. Philip Bell and Mrs. Wil- liam Collins sang solos and favorite hymns were sung by the members. Mrs. George Cox was reported to be on the sick list. Members were reminded that there would je no meeting Mon- day, October 9, it being Thanks- giving holiday. Refreshments were served by Mrs. John Jakes and Mrs. Norman Hodgson. 12TH SCOUT MOTHERS' AUX The first fall meeting of the 12th Scout Mothers' Auxiliary was held at Harmony United Church recently in the form of a pot luck supper. Mrs. Frank Bartlett president presided. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. William Coulson and the treas- urer's report by Mrs. Clifford Smith. ; During the summer a gift had been provided for the honor patrol from summer Scout camp. Mrs. William Ormiston volun- teered to replace Mrs. R. Hall as social convener. Mrs, Coul- son reported 'on the executive council meeting for May attend- ed by Mrs. Frank Bartlett and| - herself. The next regular meeting will be held on October 12 at 8 p.m. at Harmony United Church. Movies and slides of the 12th Cub and Scout activities will be shown and everyone present was asked to bring another mother. RAGLAN GUIDES-SCOUT AUX The combined meeting of the Girl Guides' Parents' commit- tee and the Boy Scout Mothers' Auxiliary was held at the home of Mrs. John Bright. The meeting opened with prayer, followed by the secre- tary and treasurer's report. Scout Bill Adair was guest and gave a talk on his week at Scout Camp. This being the first year for the Raglan boys going to camp. Mrs. Evan Greenley asked everyone to save their six quart baskets and the guides will pick them up. It was decided to serve re- freshments to the children on Hallowe'en who are collecting for UNICEF. The next meeting will be heid in the hall on Wednesday even- ing, October 25 following cub meeting. FIDELIS GROUP The regular meeting of the Fidelis Group of Simcoe Street United Church WA was held re- cently in the Memorial Hall Mrs. Harold Boddy, president conducted the meeting. Mrs. Jack Young led in the devotional' period reading the scripture lesson and a chapter from "Topics For Worship". The minutes were read by Mrs. Lloyd Whittington and Mrs. Boddy gave the treasurer's re- port in the absence of Mrs. Robert Cowie and Mrs. George Durno gave the report of the flower fund. During the business session donations were made to the bakeless bake sale. It was de- cided to hold a rummage sale this month. Mrs. Jack Young and Mrs. Lloyd Whittington served re- freshments. at the home of Mrs. Thomas L. Wilson, Colborne street east. LEGION AUXILIARY The Ladies' Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, met on Tuesday evening, Octo- ber 3, with president, Mrs. Ed- waid Bouckley, presiding. Bazaar goods was shown and members were reminded the bazaar will be held on Novem-! ver 28. Donations of goods for the cedar chest, also for any] booth, will be gratefully re- ceived. Mrs. James Anderson gave the catering report, and a good profit went into the treasury. Mrs. Alyn Elliot offered her services as entertainment con- vener for balance of year. Mrs. Casey Vermoen will be convener for refreshments dur- ing Legion Week. Any member having pictures of auxiliary ac- tivities over the years was ask- ed to loan them for display pur- poses for Legion Week. An executive meeting follow- ing the business meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 10, to discuss business connected with Legion Week.
