The popular pointed toe is joined by the new soft crescent and the square toe shapes. In addition, the variety of toes has served as inspiration for new interpretations of shoes in a wide range of vibrant fall colors and handsome leather textures, according to Shoe Fa- shion Service of Leather In- dustries of America. .. Regardless of toe line, the fashionable foot remains lean, lithe and elongated in appear- ance. Crescent or square, the shoes feature a gentle sloping from the throat down to a flat- tened toe. The dress shoe picture is one of smart, solid fashion with trimly tapered toes -- rather than extreme, exaggerated in- terpretations. Three - inch heels, irregular throatlines, built-in detailing are basic elements in the season's designs. Focus is on rich, sparkling Crescent toe, new shoe sil " (CP)--Canadian women will be less foot-weary this fall if they follow the trends being established by the fashion ex- perts. Lower heels, modified toes and subdued autumn tones set the fashion news, according to Canadian footwear representa- tives here. And there are shoes for every occasion. A "threesome" look in toes with emphasis on the shape is permeating the scene. Now no one shoe shape will take a woman round the clock. The needle and triple needle pointed toes are still predom- inant. The narrow and el ted shoes and illusion heels are in- creasingly popular. Pleats, drapes and fine stitching are some of the more interesting fashion details. As is customary, fall colors for shoes tend to the blacks and browns, with some inter- est in greens, magenta and darkened wines. Soft, smooth yum yum calf are very popular as are suede and calf styles. Women no longer must match their shoes with their ensem- bie, experts maintain. Mix- matching gives life to costumes and allows women individual expression. However, comn's. mentary bags and shoes are still in good taste. |fit-and-flare silhouettes, for fur weather this fall.
