Third game of the 2-out-of-3 series will be played in Toronto on Saturday afternoon of this week. 501 Meulemeester had a no-hitter for six innings last night and still the only run in the game was scored in the fourth frame. Tony's had a couple of triples but couldn't get the runner across the plate. The third game should be a sizzler PLAYOFF action here at home last night saw Tony's Vendors beat McLean's Esso 4-1 as Ron Taylor pitched a brilliant one-hitter. That gave Vendors the semi-final round in two-straight. The other semi-final bracket got under way last night with Scugog Cleaners beating out Heffering's 7-5, Reg. Hickey had 13 strike- outs for the Imperials but he also gave up almost as many hits and this factor -- plus some untimely errors by his mates -- enabled Scugog to get the odd easy run and that's disastrous at any time, especially in playoffs. These two teams go again Thursday night in the second of the series. Another interesting playoff game on tap for Thursday night also, will be the third game of the Inter-County League finals. Houdaille Industries tied up the round with a win over Crawford Construction, last night at Lakeview Park. FRED DAVISON, manager of the Vancouver Nor- burns, playing Hastings Legion in the Canadian Junior lacrosse finals this week, at Port Credit, yesterday voiced harsh criticism of Port Credit's water supply. He has put his players on Milk and fruit juice, for all liquid needs. Davison is apt to find the Port Credit milk has turned sour today -- after that stunning upset last night, when Brampton Ramblers won the seventh and deciding game of the Ontario senior lacrosse finals, right in Port Credit. BASEBALL BITS:- Ajax Bantams won the Oshawa Legion Minor Association's 1961 Bantam title last night, beating Victor's Sports, here at Kinsmen Stadium, in rather handy style OSHAWA LEGION Juniors came up with a great win last night a 3-0 verdict over People's Credit Jewellers in the third and final game of their Leaside Junior League semi-final round, Roger "Satch" Reeson pitched a two-hitter for the shutout win. Now the Oshawa boys meet Moore's Drugs in the finals, starting tomorrow evening at Talbot Park . . . JIMMY DYKES is going to be let out as manager of the Cleveland Indians and rumor has it that coach Mel McGaha, who managed Toronto Leafs last year, may be offered the top seat in the Wigwam . . . ROGER MARIS (nor Mickey Mantle) didn't get any homers yesterday and an indication of the pressure mounting is given in that the usually quiet Maris voiced some criticism of the plate umpire's calls, on balls-and-strikes YANKEES won over White Sox and now appear to be within about one week of clinching the American League pennant . . .
