Pa sy TR 76 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Monday, July 10, 1961 | Trueman Bowls England To Win Over Aussies LEDSE, England (Reuters)-- Fast bowling by Freddie True- man, who took five wickets without cost in 24 balls, played the major part in helping Eng-| land beat Australia by eight wickets in the third cricket test Saturday. In the five - test ser- fes, the first was tied and Aus- tralia won the second. Trueman's effort, one of the greatest in test match history, routed Australia from 99 for two wickets to 120 all out, leav- ing England 59 to win. This England achieved in 70 minutes for the loss of Raman Subba Row and Colin Cowdrey. Final scores: Australia 237 and 120; England 299 and 62 for 2 Trueman finished with six wickets for 30 runs in 15.5 overs for 'match figures of 11 for 88. Trueman's final spell read 7.54.56 and Australia lost its last eight wickets in 52 minutes. Irish Jackie Scores Upset BUFFALO (AP)--Irish Jackie Donnelly of Buffalo scored an upset split decision over Paolo Rosi of New York in a 10-round bout for the New York state lightweight championship Satur- day night. Both weighed 135 pounds. It was Donnelly's most im- pressive victory in a career that now includes 25 triumphs against one loss and a draw. Rosi, 33, known in the ring as an easily-cut fighter, did the damage in the bout, opening a deep gash over Donnelly's left eye. But the 26-year-old Buffalo battler appeared unhampered| by the constant bleeding. Rosi, fresh from an upset victory over fourth-ranked Len Matthews two months ago, now has 35-8-2 record. Rosi is ninth- ranked in the 135-pound division. Referee Mark Conn and judge Dick Fay scored six to four for Donnelly and judge Lou Gold- stein saw it even in rounds and points.
