DATED AT OSHAWA THIS 29th DAY OF MAY, 1961, SUMMARY OF THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF BY-LAW 3894 INCLUDING A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO WHICH IT APPLIES 1. Re: Section 1 of By-law 3894 1. Purpose The purpose of Section 1 of the by-law is to change the definition of "lot" in the zoning by-law by deleting the words "'as a unit" from the existing definition. The purpose of the amendment is to make clear that all land owned by a person ot a particular location and used in conjunction with a main building located thereon is considered part of the® "lot" for purposes of computing side yard and other requirements of the zoning by-law. 2. Effect The effect of the amendment is that it is no longer nec- essary. that the land comprising a lot be used "os a unit", The lot may now be used as in the case of a semi-detached factory building, as two distinct and separate units and all of the land is still considered as forming one lot for purposes of computing side yard and other requirements of the zoning by-law. 3.
