WEN ON a TET - Rain Holds Up Prairie Seeding OTTAWA (CP)--Prairie seed- ing operations have been held up by three weeks of rain and cold weather but could become general this week--with few ex- ceptions -- if the weather im- proves, the bureau of statistics said Wednesday. The bureau's survey, based on reports received from field cor- respondents up to Tuesday night, found full-scale seeding operations in almost all parts of Canada were awaiting better weather. Less than half the spring seeding has been completed in most Ontario counties. An ex- ception is the Essex and Kent county acreages seeded by the first week of April, before wet weather began. STRIKE UNITES FATHER, SON TORONTO (CP) -- The Royal York Hotel strike here has re-united a father and son after a separation of 30 years. Otto Kehnel, 61, a valet at the Royal York, left Ger- many in 1930, headed for Western Canada. He lost track of his son Wilhelm, who was in the German air force and was later a pris- oner of war in the United States. Wilhelm came to Toronto seven years ago but could not trace his father until he saw a picture of picketers at the hotel. Among them was Otto Kehnel, a Royal York employee for 11 years. "We both got a terrific shock," said Mr. Kehnel senior.
