Orono Drama Festival Set | ORONO --/The Orono Drama Festival (sponsored by the Cen- tral Durham Agricultural Fall Fair) is to be held on Sept. 28, | 29 and 30, 1961 at the Orono Townhall. Leonard Crainford will adjudi- cate. During recent years interest shown in this Festival has in- creased greatly. A sculptured figure donated by the Orono Chamber of Commerce, is awarded annually to the best play. Other awards include: best actress, best actor, best direc- tor, best set and best diction. These awards take the form of hand-made plaques from Har- lander Pottery, Brooklin. Last year the Oshawa Little Theatre's production "The Val- {iant", directed by Art Elliott, was runner-up for the best play. Also ope of last year's entrants -- the Whitby Theatre Guild -- were awarded the Arthur Gelber Trophy for Accomplishment in the Regional Central Ontario Drama Festival.
