Prior to that her home was in Toron- it was a life member of the WMS at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Whitby, and president of the Ladies' Aid in that church. She was past president of the Women's Insti tute. A member of the Benevolent Rebekah Lodge, she was Past Noble Grand of the lodge.
