Turk had refused to sign his mileage cheque, He was told a resolution had been passed that mileage to and from employees' homes to the office would not be paid. His duties kept him away from the office much of the time, and his day did not end at 5 p.m. He said that he worked almost every Saturday and Sunday with. out extra remuneration, which he considered his duty. He worked from his home as much as the office. He considered he should have mileage allowance for all miles travelled while on duty. "You gave me an increase in salary of $300," he said, "and knocked off $375 mileage allow- ance."
