TOMATOC SOUP CAKE 1/3 cup shortening 1 cana tomato soup 1% cups flour etsp. cloves 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 cup raisins . Melt shortening and add sugar, soda and tomato soup. Cream butter, add sugar gradually, beat until very tight. Add well-beaten egg yolks, then sifted dry ingredients altern- ately with milk, add vanilla. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Fill buttered pan 2/3 full. Bake in mederate oven 350 degrees 25 min. Filling: Cream $8 tablespoons butter. Gradually add about 1% cups confectionery sugar, 1 tsp. very strong coffee, % tsp. vanilla and enough cream to make mixture of consistency to spread. Fold in 2 tablespoons of almonds which have been blanched and lightly browned in oven. and rolled fine with rolling pin. Spread between layers. Stir in 1% cups nuts and add 1 tsp. vanilla Line an 8-inch pan with graham crackers. Pour in mixture. Top with remaining graham crackers. (Recipe takes approx. 15 graham crackers.)
