THE DAILY TIMES-GAZETTE, Wednesday, November 28, 199% § Plans for the naming of this year's Peter Perry Award winner have now been completed. Nom- inations for the award must be in the hands of the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce by Dec, 31 and the awara will be announced in January. Nomination forms will be placed in the three banks and the Whit- by post office, with envelopes ready for mailing to the secre- tary. They will be held unopened by ihe secretary until they are picked up by the chairman of the Plans Formulated For Perry Award The official nomination form, to be filed with the Chamber sec- retary when filled out, will short. ly appear in the banks and post office, It requires that the name of the sponsor and the hame of the candidate appear. Both must be residents of Whithy. It also requires that the names of service groups and other or- ganizations of which candidate is a member, be named. The most important section of the nomination form to be com- pleted states: "The shove named select committee d to judge who will receive the award. The presentation is to be made in January, probably by His Honor Judge John E. Pritchard, donor of the award. It has been suggested that a descendant of Peter Perry, for whom the award is named, be speaker at the din- ner when the award is made. Judging the nominations is a board of nine judges, all of whom are anonymous but they are ap- pointed by a special committee of the Chamber of Commerce. Incidentally, anonymous nomina- tions will not be considered by this panel and those acting as judges of the nominations are not eligible for the Peter Perry Award this year.
