This affair at the Stadium here tonight was to have been a double- header--ordered by the league executive to clean up some postponed dates--but the . Dutchmen objected to the doubleheader, on the grounds that it meant losing time of work, in order to be in Oshawa in time for a 6:30 p.m. start and as the Dutchmen are not making start on five hits including a triple Cincinnati by Eldridge and added four more in the second on four more hits. So the single game here tonight is called for the regular hour, 8:00 p.m. Ted Stone pitched the win for Oshawa last night and the game was a real hectic affair. The "Motors" have lost three games in Kitchener this summer by eome-run margins, after outhitting the homesters and having few errors. Last night it was the other way around. Stone was touched for seven hits and Oshawa | collected only five off left-hander Dean Finkbeiner. The "Motors" also had two errors and the homesters didn't have any -- but Oshawa won the game, They got three of their hits, along with [ a walk, in the top of the third inning for three runs. The Dutch- men came back in the same frame to score their two an! neither team scored again. The Oshawa boys figure they were "given the gears" also. Rollie Levellle was ordered from the game, while getting a drink of water -- for a remark he didn't make. Haig Lavery took the blame for the remark, so the umpire also ordered Lavery from the game. -- but wouldn't reprieve Le- | veille. At this injustice, manager Roy Lefevre staged a heated argument with the official and he got the heave-ho also. The | last three innings with Fred | Etcher doing the catching and "Red" McDermaid playing at second base. Needless to say -- it all helped to make the victory just that much sweeter, | 1 DON'T KNOW who _ manager Roy Lefevre will send to the mound here igh the Kitch Waterloo Dutchmen but | our guess is that it will either be Cec Hall or left-handed Don Crawford. The Dutchmen are not too potent against good right- handed pitching and a "leftie" also gives them plenty of trouble, 50 no matter who gets the call for the Motqr City forces, if he comes up with a good game, he should be able to register a win. And a win is needed. The 'Motors' would like nothing better than to move into third place in the standing at this point, because that | would leave the scramble for the fourth and final playoff berth between St. Thomas and the Dutchmen -- with only about three weeks of schedule play r ini This game at the Stadium tonight should draw a good crowd. The "Motors" have won their | first two games this week -- both away from home. Now that they have proven they are not "homers" they belong higher in the standing than fourth place, by knocking off the Dutchmen here this evening. | Fourth game of the Oshawa City and Digtrict Senior "B" softball finals, will be played tonight at Whithy under their oY floodlights and it should be another exciting tussle. The Hillcrest- Stokers were down a game before in the series but came up with their Best brand of ball to even the count on their home diamond. Tonight they are faced with the same task, except that this time it's "a must". The Stokers have to win this one tonight to force the series to the limit of five games. Oshawa Tony's were hitting the ball hard on Tuesday night and came up with 14 hits, however the gemeral opinion is that Meule- meester was not nearly as sharp as usual, but if he comes up with a game like he pitched on Saturday, Tony's will find safe hits very scarce. If Whitby does win tonight, to force a fifth and deciding game, they will have set the stage for a real natural. The fifth game is expected to be ordered for this | Saturday nigh! and since Alexandra Park is not available grandstand show booked for we rather expect that the City and District executive will order the fifth game to be played at Kinsmen Civic Memorial Stadium -- unless they wish to wait until the | following week.
