WHEATLEY Canadian Press Staff Writer MONTREAL (CP)--The Stanley Cup series came full cycle again today, with Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings headed for Detroit and the deciding game of the world's hockey classic. From somewhere Tuesday night Canadiens called on some hidden reserve that bowled over the series- favorite Red Wings with a sur- prising 6-3 trouncing. It was no fluke victory. Coach Jimmy Skin- ner of Red Wings said succinctly and a bit grimly: "We were beaten; we played lousy hockey." So the cycle comes around again. Just a year ago the same teams, !tied then as now at three games | each, travelled to Detroit for the | seventh game. Red Wings won in {overtime 2-1. The only difference | this year is that each team has won all its games on home ice. Last year each won twice on foreign ice. | CANUCKS HEARTENED Coming from behind twice in this | series, Canadiens go into Thurs- day's game at Detroit with buoyed | confidence. But it will take more than this to stop Red Wings on Detroit ice. The Detroiters haven't | been beaten at home this season since Dec. 19. They don't intend to start when it means a difference | of $500 to each player. Canadiens will look | (Boom Boom) Geoffrion {up his scoring pace.
