At left is Barbara Chilcott of Toronto who will play Juliet in "Measure for Measure," and at right is Frances Hyland FESTIVAL of Regina, Sask., who interrupted a sucessful London career to play Isabella in the same play. (CP Photo) Irish Doctor To Go On Meen MONTREAL (CP)--A 27-year-old Irish doctor who answered an ad- vertisement "because it looked like being fun" has become chief cook- and-bottle-washer of a scientific expedition due to explore a meteor lake in Canada's northland. Sean Moore admits it was more a wish for adventure than scientific curiosity that prompred him to ap- ply for the job. The Posh raduate pathology stu- dent at McGill University saw the invitation for position of medical officer to the expedition on the col- lege bulletin board. "It looked as if it might be fun and as good a vay as any to spend the summer so f replied and was accepted." CIRCULAR LAKE ea 0 eight man exploration team, Victor Ben Meen, di- Ry of the Royal Ontario Mu- Journey seum of Geology in Toronto, will leave in mid-July for Hebron mis- sion in Labrador. Object of the trip is to inspect a perfectly cir- cular, green-watered lake 40 miles west of the settlement. The team, made up of Canadian and United States specialists, be- lieves the lake was formed in a crater caused by a meteor smash- ing into the earth. It was dis- covered during the Second World War by Col. Arthur F. Mere- wether, USAF, while he was fly- ng over the region. r. Moore, Ho Belfast, is get- ting a big kickout of the jobs he has 2 assigned during the month-long stay in the north coun- tr y. .- "I am officially medico and ra- dio officer but generally I will act as chief cook - and - bottle washer," he says. BRmericans Hit Travel Trails NEW YORK (AP)--All signs point to a banner summer season in travel by Americans, despite the dip in the economy in recent months. The American Automobile As- sociation says a record 60,000,000 rsons will take to vacation trails y all means of transportation dur- ing the summer months--an in- crease of 10 per cent over last summer. The AAA estimates these pleas- ure travellers will spend in excess of $6,000,000,000. Trip-routing services again re- port a heavy run of requests for information on Canadian highways. Last year almost 7,000,000 United States travellers spent all or part of their vacations in Canada, with the average visit lasting six days. There are 'indications that figure will be topped this year as mil- lions head north of the border in pursuit of new scenery and relaxa- tion.
