Taboo On Teeth In Dentists' Home MONTREAL (CP)--With a fam. ily of dentists, one subject that's taboo at the dinner table is teeth. At least that is the rule at Mrs. Frank Mendel's home, and she |e dares not relax it for fear that the dinner would sound like a dental convention. Her husband, Frank, is a den- tist, and her three children, Anita, Jon and Berl all follow in their father's footsteps. This leaves Mrs.. pleatel feeling slightly outnum- red. Anita, the eldest of the Mendel children, is an orthodontist. She straightens irregular teeth or jaws, and is the only woman orthodon- tist in Montreal and one of fcw in Canada. Referring to her mother's ruling about shop talk, Anita explains: "She tolerated it while I was a dettal student. But when my broth- became dentists too, she thought it was time to put her foot down. She recalls, "I have a pet aunt who encouraged me to belleve that a woman should make her own way in the world. 1 tried to follow her advice."
