RAHM Correspondent TYRONE -- Thanksgiving Sun- day at Tyrone United Church was observed with the dedication of a new baptismal font and the bap- tism of five infants. The beautifully finished light oak standing font was the gift of two families who expressed the wish that they might remain anonymous. In dedicating it Rev. D. J. Reason Given For Poor Morale At Reformatory TORONTO (CP)--W. J. Stewart, chairman of the legislature's com- mittee on reform institutions, said Friday he and other committee members have been told of many cases of Guelph reformatory guards putting prisoners on charge and of the charges being dropped later by the guards' superiors. The situation has led to poor dis- | cipline and weak morale at the re- formatory, he said at a committee hearing. "It seems somebody higher up dismissed the charges to appear a good fellow with the prisoners" Col. Hedley Basher, deputy re- forms minister and a former sup- erintendent of the Guelph institu- tion, - suggested the officials per- haps felt the charges unwarranted. "All superintendents have to be careful to make sure the prisoner is not being persecuted rather than prosecuted," said Col. Basher. "It might be that the guard was in a bad mood that day and took #t out on the prisoner." Craters on the moon range up to 140 miles across. SUGAR BEET FIELD RAYMOND, Alta.
