The bureau of statistics reported today that the nation's total popu- lation on June 1 had soared to 14,781,000, an increase of 351,000 over the 14,430,000 recorded on the same date in 1952. The new total also represents a gain of 772,000 over the official population - figure of 14,009,429 re- corded in the ninth decennial cen- sus on June 1, 1951. The estimated figures for June 1 show population gains in all provinces. The milk control board chair- man, Judge A. B.
