To a person familiar with the city, a given address will call up a picture of how an apartment in thig vicinity will probably look. However, you need not be bound by any rigid rules. Pind what you want; it will be there if you look in the right place, FUN The city offers you a great variety of ways to have fun as a two-some, and to entertain. Con- certs and theatre are regular fare for most intelligent people who live in large cities. Usually you can find excellent programs for peo- ple who are enthusiastic about music and the dance. There is the circus; there are exhibitions of such winter sports as ice hockey and figure skating. If you discover friends with the same interests that you have, it is fun to buy tickets together and give a dinner party before or give a supper afterward. Or, if your budget will allow it, you might en- tertain one or two couples at din- ner and surprise them with tickets to a play you know they have not seen. Perhaps they will return the favor with the same sort of a Do not fall into the habit of cliche entertaining. So often one crowd seems forever to be going to the same sort of parties -- either cocktail parties or dinner' parties at which most of them constantly appear. Since decorators are usually paid only by the commission they get on the materials used on the job; it would only be worth decorator's time to help you if you were going to buy the large part of your fur- nishings for one or more rooms. If you have already assembled a good part of your furnishings, but need advice on the final choices, an excellent plan is to consult a big store decorating department. Here professionals are prepared to give time to your problems can see a great many samples fo which te choose. A city apartment particularly needs good pictures. Frequently in a country place you can just look out™of any window and the vista is a picture. Fresh flowers or a big bowl of live green leaves add a personal and dressed-up feel- ie to a city apartment. Save a little corner in your budget for the things and they will make the furnishings you own seem to be more important. Do not try to make your city apartment a replica of some other apartment. Keep your own genuine interests and those of your hus- band uppermost and work them into the decorative scheme. Al- though there are probably many floor plans in your ciéy that dupli- cate yours, there is no other couple whose interests and plan for living is an exact replica of ydurs, Arrange the space yol have to fit what you want to do there. On the ski slope, with tanned skin and wind- swept hair, you are one person; dancing under the stars you are quite another. On your wedding day you will be neither a tomboy nor a siren but a woman--sweetly, gently and serenly poised. To be your loveliest self accentuate this quality and give beauty the place it deserves in your wedding plans. Begin by guarding your health. In these pre-nuptial weeks there'll be many parties, with rich food and (and late nights. It's all part of the fun. But try to limit late eve- nings to one or two a week -- especially if you're working. And watch those pastries! They'll play havoc with your figure and com- plexion. When you're tempted to have just one more petit four think of the nipped-in waistline of your wedding gown. One bride- put on ten pounds in two weeks of partying and had to have the seams of her dress let out. A few minutes a day devoted to special midriff reducing exercises are well spent. Before selecting your bridal headdress have your hair permed and styled in the way you'll be wearing it. If your hair is too dry or too oily you may need a course of conditioning treatments but re- member that nothing takes the place of faithful brushing (a hun- dred strokes a day) to bring lustre to your locks. Have the final ap- pointment with your hairdresser a day or two before the ceremony. Your hair will be more attrac- tive, more in keeping with your soft, gentle look when some of the crispness has gone out of the wave. ! Shop for your beauty trousseau as care as for your fashion trousseau. This includes your basic requirements for treatment, make- up and fragrance. It is unwise and financially unsound to buy a hodge podge of preparations which you may never ase. You'll need a good cleansing cream for removing makeup and a mild complexion soap. For travel- ling, include those little wafers saturated with cleansing lo- tion. You'll need a rich emollient cream and a mild aswingen; Add deodorant, dipilatory mouth wash to keep you always sweet and fresh. Manicure equipment should in- clude a nail brush, long flexible steel file, orangewood stick, cot- ton, cuticle remover and polish re- mover. Hand lotion (even if you haven't, used it regularly before) is a must when you're doing house- work. Check your hair brush, tooth brush and combs. If they're show- ing signs of molting, replace them with new ones before setting out on your honeymoon. Remember that men are often more fastidious than women on this point. MAKE-UP Requirements include two shades of foundation--light and dark; two shades of harmonizing face powder; cream rouge; three shades of lipstick and matching nail lacquer. Shop for a coral shade to go with gold, coral, yellow- greens and all shades of brown from oatmeal to tete de negre; a blue-red or rosy pink for blues, darker greens and the mauvy col- ors from periwinkle to purple. Either shade will go with black, Eldest Sister Named Comes Up Aisle First At a Double Wedding A double wedding is two wed- dings at one ceremony.
