Jennings, prevented a serious fire at Zeller's Contracting millwork yard, at 6.45 p.m. last evening. Several piles of lumber were on fire and fanned by a stiff east wind and only the speedy arrival of the firemen prevented the flames from reaching the saw mill and planing mill where piles - of sawdust and shavings would have provided ready feed for a fast burning conflagration. Willing helpers assisted in tear- ing down the piles of lumber as firemen poured water on the burn- ing plank. It is presumed that fire was started in grass at the roadside, probably by a cigarette butt. Doug Jones of a nearby Gen- eral Motors Warehouse, turned in the alarm when he noticed smoke tising in the piles of lumber. Bartender Identifies Guns In Holdun Killing § BUFFALO, N.Y.
