PARKINSON Correspondent Port Perry -- On Thursday and Friday evenings, December 13 and 14, the Port Perry United Church Choir held its annual pre<Christ- mas music festival with goodly numbers turning out on each oc- casion to enjoy a splendid even- ing's entertainment. The per- formance was under the direc- tion of Mrs. Elsie Dobson ATCM, who was assisted and accompani- ed by Mrs. Gertrude Jackson, ATCM, RMT. The program was divided into two portions the first of these in- cluding '"Hark! the Herald Angels S8ing"' by Mendelssohn, sung by the Junior Choir. who were ac- companied by Wesley Jackson, (on trombone) and Ted Griffin (on trumpet); "Silent Night' by Frank Gruber, arranged by Lara Hog- gard sung by the combined choir; the Invocation was given by Rev. . R. H. Following this lively number the male choir present- ed "Winter Wonderland' by Ar- naud-Bernard; the senior choir sang "The Sleigh" by Krountz and Trepak, from the Nutchack- er Suite accompanied by ballet dancing of the Teen Choir; the Choir rendered "The Christmas Song" by Torme, Wells and Ringwald; the full choir sang " "Twas 'The Night Before Christ~ mas" by Moore, Darby, Simeone and Scott; the Christmas favorite, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" by Coots was given by the "Teen Choir; concluding the program were--' 'The © Twelve Days of Christmas' by Siday and Hoggard, sung by the senior choir; "Ru- dolphe the Red Nosed Reindeer" by Marks and Wilson presented by the "Teen Choir and 'Jingle Bells"' arranged by Ray Charles and sung by the full choir.
