Holliday King, Two New Members of Council The most exciting finish to a mayoralty race in Whitby election history was seen last night when former Mayor had given Elliott a 62 majority over Jermyn last election and Jermyn was running just 60 votes ahead of Elliott last night. Up to the last minute, it looked like a photo-finish. For reeve, the contest was close also as was expected, but a veteran in municipal affairs, lawyer Duncan McIntyre won again over Councillor Stanley Martin who, aspired to the office. For Deputy-reeve, Kenneth Lee defealed former councilman Harold Mace by almost two to one. |) HARRY JERMYN, Mayor With 13 in the field for council, the coniest was any- body's race until the last poll was in.
