MacRae in General Sessions Court yesterday in the case of George Klem, 35, 328 Bloor Street East, Oshawa, and Gordon Rooke, 28, James Street, Oshawa. Parts After deliberating two and one- haif hours yesterday a General Ses- sions court jury hrought in a "guilty" verdict against Murray John Nice, 21, Peterborough. Nice was charged with theft of automo- bile parts, the property of General Motors of Canada, at Oshawa, where he was employed last spring. Judge F. J. MacRae said he would withhold judgment until the con- clusion of the criminal work which may be at the end of next week. In the morning session of the secorid day of the trial of Nice, formerly of William Street, Oshawa, argument was heard on the admis- sibility of a statement given by him to Detective-Sergeant Alexan- der and Chief William Mills, head of the General Motors 87-man police force. After hearing details of how the statement was obtained, Judge PF. J. MacRae ruled that it be. ad- mitted and the jury was recalled to continue hearing of the evidence, Following the taking of the state- ment on the early morning of June 14 last, the police went to Nice's boarding house and found a large quantity of motor car accessories, stolen from General Motors, stored in the house. However, Nice was not connected with any of the goods found at that time. The owner of the house was charged with theft, pleaded guilty and was sentenced, Defence Counsel A. W. 8.
