WHIPPED CREAM CAKE cup whipped cream cup sugar egg yolks cups flour tsps. baking powder egg whites 1% tsp. almond flavouring tsp. wi tsp. salt Using an electric mixer, "whip cream until stiff; add sugar, egg yolks, flavouring and salt. Beat until smooth. Sift flour and baking powder together and add egg whites to this. Put flour mixture in bowl with the liquid and beat until smooth. Add flour alternately with milk in small amounts heating after each addition. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites until foamy, add remaining Y% cup sugar gradually and beat only until mixture will hold up in soft peaks. Beat thoroughly into batter. Turn into two 8 inch layer. Mrs. John Leask Faithful Group, Myrtle FUDGE CAKE Line two 8-inch layer tins with Wax paper. 134 cups pastry flour 2 tsps. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 3 cup butter 1% cups fruit sugar 2 eggs separated 2 squares unsweetened choc. 1 tsp. wi 3 cup milk % cup boiling water Method: --Cream 3; cups sugar with % cup butter until light and ' fluffy. Beat 2 egg yolks well and beat in the remaining 34 cup sugar. Combine sugar and butter mixture with egg and sugar. Then add melted chocolate. Add sifted dry above alternately add boiling water. Fold in "suty beaten egg whites. Bake in layer tins in moderate oven 350 deg. for 25 minutes. Put together with fruit or date filling. This recipe will make a Loaf cake 8x4, if 3% cup' of boiling water in a place of of 3 cup is used. Bake in moderate oven before opening oven door.
