Let us bear in mind the lesson they taught us, and the message that they have for the world today, that we breed the spirit of toler- ance, justice and kindness that may yet save peace for a stormy world." GUEST SPEAKER Capt. the Rev. Harold Cleverden, the guest speaker, was introduced by Past President MM. McIntyre Hood. He said that 33 years ago, when Armistice came, it was be- lieved -that--a-war-to-end-all-wars these were generously given, re- sponse being made by Mrs. J. Lamb, President of the Ladies Auxiliary, who urged the young veterans of the second world war to be ready to step into the places of the old veterans who had held the fort for so long. SPLENDID ENTERTAINMENT An excellent program of enter- tainment, with Bill Beaton, 1st Vice-President in charge, followed the speaking program. A group of Ukrainian dancers, under the leadership of Michael Yourkevich, presented a dazzling progragqn of folk dances, including the Kole- myka, Honoviter, Kosachuk Podo- lion, Kateryna, and Hrechanyka, and the chumak danced as a solo by Jerry Manila. The musicians playing for the dances were Tony Laskowski, Mike Eleaiuk, Don Olynyk, Bill Slywka, and Eddie Horky. The audience was delighted by the splendid dancing exhibition of these boys and girls. Marion Ireland was a vivacious and popular tap dancer, and took e gathering by storm with 'a great exhibition of dancing on skates. Ken Mayberry, tenor, contributed two groups of Irish songs in: his usual enjoyable manner, and was brought back for encores Which were gratefully received.
