CBC Plans Coverage Of Royal Tour The coming Canadian tour of Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh will get extensive radio coverage. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, plane ning a series of broadcasts over the whole route, will make its facilis ties and program available to many countries. The broadcasts will extend over a period of five weeks, from the landing at Quebec City to the de- parture from St. John's, Nfld. About 35 on-the-spot actuality broadcasts from 23 Canadian cities will be supplemented by news broadcasts. Besides the two national English networks, there will be coverage of all major events on the French tional service will short-wave pro- grams to all parts of the world. The detailed planning and direc tion of the Royal tour broadcasts is under supervision of A. E. Pow- ley, head of the CBC overseas unit during the Second World War and now in charge of the special events department.
