Operated by Ontario Motor Sales Lim- ited, the new station, which will feature Shell Oil Company products, is the last word as regards facilities for the comfort of the travelling public. (CP) -- In Turner Valley, the Western Ca- nada Natural Gas Company takes gas from the earth. Near Burdett, : [140 miles southeast of Calgary, the :.icompany puts it back into the ground. The gas is pumped into 11 huge underground. storage wells 'during the summer, and released as need- ed during the winter. Lorne James, field foreman at the station where gas is pumped back underground, said storage capacity in the natural wells is practically unlimited. 3 Each day 6,500,000 cubic feet of gas is forced below ground at a pressure of 645 pounds per square foot. This pressure is enough to ensure a steady flow when the gas is released in winter. The gas first comes from the Turner Val- ley fields at a pressure of 140 pounds per square foot. The natural storage wells ex- tend under a four-mile area. The stored gas supplies Lethbridge, Macleod, Taber and other southern Alberta centres.
