Mickey Still Alive Brother Hints In B.C. Vancouver--G. A. Martin, Toron- to barrister, will fly here in September to present an appeal by Alex. R. McDonald, convicted bank robber, and 32-year-old brother of Toronto's notorious Mickey Mec- Donald. "Because my brother is public enemy No. 1, I have been perse- cuted," McDonald told Mr. Justice Wilson on June 28 when sentenced to 10 years for the $50,000 March 26 armed robbery of a Bank of Montreal branch here. McDonald used the present tense in referring to his brother, who has been reported dead at the hands of US. hoodlums. : "The man who robbed the bank was in my lawyer's office on the day: the case went to jury," Mec- Donald said in claiming he was wrongly identified. "Unfortunately be uid not be called on my be- alt. if god Donald he had. served 10 years for a similar offense and added, "if your. conviction is wrong, it is my sincere wish it will be rectified in another court." ; Anthony Schlosser, 36, sentenced to 20 years as involved in the hold- up, has not filed an appeal, It will cost Mr. Martin only $50 Mr. Justice' Wilson reminded Mec: | in membership fees for the British | Columbia Law Society to handle the appeal.
