S. Mills. An illustrated worship service en- titled "God of the Hills" was led by Mrs, R. T.. M. Temple, Mrs. E. B. Killens, and Rev. R. J. Scott. It was announced that Mr. F. L. Beecroft had resigned as Recording Steward after thirty years of ser- vice. Warm expressions of appre- ciation of his work were expressed by Mr. W. A. Holliday and Rev. A. M. Irwin, and a resolution to this effect was unanimously passed. Earle E. Bond was elected to the post of Recording Steward. Mr. W. A. Elmcroft Dewdrop M. who Winnipeg, Jan. 19--(CP)--Winni- peg's oldest citizen, 106-year-old Henry Timlick, died Thursday in a nursing home. Mr. Timlick was born on a farm at North Augusta, Ont, the second child in a family of 14. He started work in the Ottawd Val- ley logging camps, coming to Mani- toba with his bride, Ellen Ferguson, by Red River Boat in 1878. \| President) showed that a variety of F. T. T. Rowe paid a tribute to the fine work which Mr. Kean had done in days when it was very difficult to carry the work forward successfully, and expressed the warm thanks of the congreation to him. Mr. Kean re- plied that he had always tried to "pull his weight,' 'and had enjoy- ed the work. A brief service of rembrance was held for members of the Church who had passed away during the year. These were: Mr. Joseph Ash- by, Miss E. Helena Bowes, Mr, Gray- don' M. Goodfellow, Miss Emily A, McKay, Mrs. G. J. Osborne, Miss Minnie V. Powell, Mr. R. S. Mills, Chairman of the Committee of Stewards, comment= ed on the financial report which showed $8,827.00 had been raised for local needs, and the year had been concluded with a small balance on hand. It was reported also that the giv- ings to the Missionary and Main- tenance Fund had totalled $3,176.00 which was an increase of $476.00 over last year, Mr. R. E. Perry reported for the Sunday School: an enrolment of 253 students, teachers and officers, and acknowledged the help given to the Sunday School in various ways by the Men's Club, the Mater-Pat Club, and the Woman's Associa- tion, The addition of a Viewlex Projector was expected to add new interest to the work of teaching. The Sunday School contribution to the Missionary and Maintenance Fund was $108.00. The report of the Woman's Miss- ionary Society (Mrs. H. G. Crozier, articles had been sent to the Rose- dale Memorial Hospital, Matheson, Ontario, to the Church's Mission at Angola, West Africa, and to an orphanage in St. John's, Newfound- land. The contribution to the gen- eral work of the W.M.S. was $1,- 250.00, an increase of $150.00 over last year. The work of the C.G.I.T. and Mission. Band was commended warmly by Mrs. Crozier. The Woman's Association (Mrs. James Read, President) reported a good year. New equipment was pro- vided for the nursery depatrtment of the Sunddy School. New ban- quet tables purchased. The kitch- en in the personage completely re- decorated and equipped. The Even- ing Group held a tea, bazaar and handcraft display. The Service Group catered to five weddings and six banquets. The Citizenship Group provided clothing for the Children's Aid, and the Sociability Group entertained a visiting choir, and catered for the men in the Ev- ery-Family Canvass.
