FLETCHER (Correspondent) Harmony, June 9--At long last, and after several unsuccessful at- fempts to organize the Intermedi- ate Boys' team, this has been ac- complished, The team wil be known at the "Harmony Merch- ants," with Mackie Motor Sales, Mackie the Mover, Harmony Sports and Cycle, and Art's Grill sponsor- ing it. The team has entered the Township League, and is well. on its way, playing its second game at home last night with Westmount putting up the opposition. Roy Fodgham will manage the team, with Fred Parsons as coach, so it Jooks as if the fans will have some- thing to look forward to during the summer evenings after all. A Ban- tam Boys' team has also been or- ganized, and will likely get start- ed around the first of July. The team will beached and managed by William Wallace, Sr. For those interested in Horse- shoe Pitching, the necessary equip- ment has been ordered, and it will be only a matter of a short time before the ring of the "shoes will resound on the air. Dust Trouble Over Relief at last from the continual dust stirred up by so much heavy traffic on Harmony Road South, is in sight. Early Friday morning, trucks were on the job spreading chemical on the road to allay the dust. Lane, former], of Harmony, and now residing in London, were Wednesday callers at Mr. and Mrs, Ken Whattam's home. They stayed overnight with Mrs. Lane's sister in Oshawa, Mrs. R. J. Fursey, who accompanied them to Toronto on Thursday to gttend the Graduation exercises at Toronto University, of Barbara, their daughter. Hundreds of stu- dents were graduated at the color- ful ceremony which took place in Convocation Hall. Barbara, who received her B.A. was the youngest graduate this year from the Uni- versity. In the afternoon, they attended the Garden Party, which was also a highlight of the occasion. Tables were set up on the spacious lawns, and tea was poured by the wives of the Professors, while the gradu- ates served their guests. During the entire afternoon, the beauti- ful chimes from the University tower, rang out over the happy scene. Miss Lane plans to enter the field of Journalism, and may accept a position in Toronto, Birthday Party Held at Columbus Columbus, June 9--A very enjoy- able evening was spent at the home of Mrs. W. Scott and Alan when her brothers and sisters met to enjoy a birthday party together. Andrew Scott, Goderich, in a few well chosen words explained the reason for their intrusion. George Scott presented Mrs. Scott with a beautiful trilight lamp as a birthday gift.
