Up the present some twenty of Oshawa's industries have booked .pace for exhibits, and will have their products on display for the thousands of citizens who will attend this important event. There will also be other exhibits ot an informative and educa- tional character that should make a strong appeal to the public. Sportrite, Jr. Cole of California. 21-GUN SALUTE Pearl Harbor, April 26--(AP) -- e big guns protecting Pearl Har- boomed a salute Tuesday to the cyliiser Ontario, Canada's second econd largest fighting ship. The 8,000-ton Ontario, arriving for a two-week visit, dipped its colors and returned the 21-gun salute, sal- vo for salvo. The exchange took place as the cruiser sailed past the batteries which guard the entrance to Pearl Harbor. FATAL SPIN Oxford, England, April 26--(Reu- ters)--Fit, Lt. Frank Welch, Cana- dian-born instructor of the Oxford University Air Squadron, was kille® Tuesday in an air crash at Abing- don near here. He was in a training plane with an undergraduate mem- ber of the squadron when it went into a spin. Both jumped, but Welch's parachute failed to open. April 26-- (CP)--Trial production operations at the Glass Guild, Medicine Hat's newes industry, started Tuesday. It consists of two seav, brass hooks held apart by a spring which snaps together and impales any fish touching the bait.
