The date has not definitely been set as yet but it will probably be around the middle of October, J. D. Innes, Woodstock, Ontario, will be the judge. If suitable ar- rangements can be made the West- Central Ontario championship show will be held at the C.N.E, which should once again restore the Hol- stein exhibit at the CN.E. to its prewar position as the largest on the continent. The location and date of the Western Ontario cham- pionship show has not yet been de- cided. The grant from the Association to each of the four championship shows has been increased from the $625 offered last year to $1,000. A grant of $100 each is being offered by the Association to County Black and White Days, of which there were 40 in Ontario last year. Lewes, Suffolk, England--(CP)-- Farmers on the coast here have been advised by their agricultural committee to grow higher hedges to reduce wind erosion. FIGHTING HENS Cradock, South Africa --(CP)-- Twelve black hens belonging to a farmer here attacked and killed a snake 3% feet long. Hearing the hens making a noise the farmer Tound the hens busy fighting the snake, HELP BLIND REFUGEES Oslo -- (CP) -- The first con- tingent of blind refugees from dis- placed persons camps in Germany arrived here recently. The groups of 12 was accompanied by eight relatives, also refugees. In an ef- fort to avoid breaking up family groups, they are being provided with comfortable housing and = workshop near here.
