Whitby District Men's Bowling League The Lemon League was honored this week by having Fred Ing and Al Tovey initiated and installed in their own little gathering. Both men howled 99 and 98 respectively followed by some older members, F. Sleep 62, B. Sawdon 50, 89; A Noble 80, 83; E. Jones 96, and H. Hawes 81. The high triple race was led by J. Annan of Red Wings with 824, just two short "of the high triple flat, followed by R. Henshaw 763; 8. Brooks 756; D. Adams 733; O. Moore 690; A. Hawes 689; S. Peake 687; D. Bryant 685, C. Daniels 677; G. Sweet 653; A. Rousseau 640 and B. Bryant 636. Ony six points separate the first sixteen teams, with just eight weeks left in the schedule. Here are the standings and weekly se- sults: Wk. Pin- Total Pts. White 224; S. Brooks 221; C. Win- ters 319; R, McQuay 219; J. Mec- Carroll 216 and L. Yuill 211, Since the final entry date for CRA. in Toronto is March 31st, next week will be the last night for the men to solve the problem of who is going to get the call. Don't forget, it's the first six high average men, and the sixth man will just act as a spare in case of emergency. There seems to be some confusion in regard to the low man who is to sit out for the first game ev- ery week. Now, first of all, this is only to take effect if the team have their seven players out the week before. If they are short one play- er this week, naturally next week if the team has seven men, the man who {failed to show up the week before is the low man and must sit out the first game. In the case of a team having five men one week and seven, the next, it's up to the captain to decide which one of the two men will sit out for the first game. The high single flat is still held by R. Tippett of Marlowe's with 353. The high triple flat is held by C. Winters of Pye with 826. The high triple with handicap is held by Ken MacDonald of B'O's with 916. The high single with handicap is held by R. Tippett of Marlowe's with 378. The high team game is held by Bufiders with 1409. The high team triple is held by Legion with 3721. Address (Continued from Page 4) mention each and every one, but of one or two we must speak. Dr. Fletcher our superintendent, who still retains that youthful buoyancy, that zest for living, that ready wit and humor, is an in- spiration to you," a now enthus- fastic group to retain that enthus- iasm for the next 50 years. Miss Quinn, your instructor, is aiways at your beck and call to give advice and solve your diffi- culties. That is why you can come to me and say, "But Miss Busch, we have no serious problems." There is some one else who con- tributes to your happiness and comfort and who, in many ways, takes the place of" your mother. Her function to many may not ap- pear obvious. To you, the adoles- ent girl, away from home, launched on a career, there are emotional ad- justments to be made, which in- volve a comforting hand and this is made possible by the sympathe- tic guidance of a person of such calibre as Mrs. Irene Harshaw. I recall the first day you came to us, you were all so eager, gay and care-free. In these 'five months I am pleased to note that you have maintained that eagerness and edded to it the spirit of service. In . accepting your cap today I know that you realize you are accepting a trust, a symbol of the nursing profession of which you are now a part. The lighting of the candles which will now take place represents the passing of the torch of service from the senior student to the newly capped nurse.
