There was no church service on Sunday, the painters not haviug completed their work in time for paint to dry. The committee in charge of per- petual care, for St. John's ceme- tery, are receiving donations for that trust fund, and were grateful last week to receive a $50 donation from the families of the late George James Smith, of N. Dakota, U.S.A. in memory of the late George Buch- an Smith and Mary Chalmers Smith. Their grandparents, ' who were among the early worshippers of St. John's Congregation, 7th Concession. Another granddaugh- ter, Mrs. Bert Linderman, daugh- ter of Mrs. EC, Thornton, of Woodstock, also donated $10, It is a great satisfaction to all in- terested in its upkeep, to see it in such a fine condition, Visitors at the Charles Burrows home at present are Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Shepherd of Jackson- ville, Ill, USA.
