YAK! YAK! Colonna: I was called in on a ser- ious problem in Washington, but I pulled a few strings here and a few strings there . . . Spike Jones: Did you' solve the crisis? Colonna: Ah, yes! The President's piano is in tune again! Shriner: The newspapers say that Governor Dewey is gonna give up politics and go on the radio. Now, if he wants to be a comedian, I got a good opening joke for him. He could say, "You know, folks, the funniest thing happened to me the other day while I was on my way to the White House ..., " Experts Discuss Farm Radio Role Starting at once; registered lis- "| tening or discussion groups of the National Farm Radio Forum are invited -to send to their provincial farm forum secretaries questions based on forthcoming programs, as scheduled in the National Radio Forum booklet. Questions sent in by the groups are answered by members of the air panel, as a regular feature of the program. Last week, the guest speakers answered questions on the influ- ence of the daily, weekly and farm press on farm opinions. On De- cember 6th the forum panel will answer listeners' questions about the place of radio in farm life, how it influences rural thinking, and what its responsibilities should be. The following Monday, modern movies will be given a '"going-over". Watson Porter, editor of the Farmers' Advocate magazine of London, Ontario, will be this week's chairman. Members of the panel will be Alex Laidlaw, Director of Extension, St. Francis Xavier Uni- versity, Antigonish, Nova Scotia; Mrs, C. A. Campbell, Director of the Ontario Federation of Agricul- ture, London, Ontario; and Norman Roebuck, a young farmer from Waldron, Sasktachewan. CROSBY CITED Bing Crosby will receive an Air Force Association citation of honor from Col, Tommy Lamphier, Jr., president of the Association ' and the pilot who shot down Admiral Yamamoto's plane, on Sunday, Dec. 5. The citation, which will be pre- sented in Hollywood, honors Mr. Crosby for "his outstanding service in easing the burdens of battle for airmen in the far corners of the earth during World War IIL" A S---------------------- NEGOTIATIONS END STROWGER'S Furniture Co.
