Stewart, the special preacher at the 72nd Anniversary | Services of the Baptist Church on Sunday is one of the outstanding figures in the field of Christian Education in Canada. Dr. Stewart is a son of the Manse. He was ordained in 1909 and graduated in Arts from Har- vard University. He took his de- gree in Divinity at Rochester, now Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Both Rochester and McMaster i Universities have conferred the de- | gree of Doctor of Divinity upon him. Dr. Stewart has had a very suc- cessful ministry as pastor * of churches both in Canada and the United States. He was called in 1940 from the important church of Oak Park, Chicago, to succeed the late Dr. John McNeill as principal of Theology at McMaster Univer- sity. With the establishment , of the Divinity School at McMaster Dr. Stewart assumed his present position as Dean of the Divinity Faculty.
