July out- put totalled 6,482 tons compared with June's 7,960. In July, 1947, however, production was only 5,636. Give- Away Shows Curbed By N.B.C. Sanction Order Sun Valley, Idaho, Sept. 23-- (AP) | --The National Broadcasting Com- pany announced Tuésday a new pro- M | gran code imposing a form of econ- omic sanctions on give-away pro- grams. The code will apply to tele- vision as well as radio. NBC's new code, effective next Jan. 1, doesn't prohibit give-aways as such, but counts each mention of a product name in prize lists as parts of the sponsor's time allow- ance for commercials on the pro- gram, Most of the prizes on give- aways are put up not by the spon. sor but by other manufacturers who get, in return, free plugs on the air for their products. Under the new code, the sponsor either will have to pay the full cost of the prizes, or share his advertis- ing time with the manufacturers who donate prizes. 3:30--Pepper Young's Famlly CC WBEN--CBL 3.30--Beautiful Lady CKEY 3:30--Second Honeymoon WK 3:35--Kiwanis Safety rogram CKEY :35--Three-Quarter Tim K :35--Lucky Shopper Contest CHUM Bb o--Jerry Burke Show CKEY Right to opis WBEN---CBI, 3:45--Lucy Linton CFR.
