Mr. A Mrs. Thomas Sharp spent Tuesday in Hamilton. On Friday evening Master George Lee had an emergency op- eration for a ruptured appendix. We learn that he is doing as well as can be expected in Port Perry Hospital. Auxiliary Meeting Mrs, Wilmot Walker was hostess to the Women's Auxiliary on Tues- day afternoon. A large number of ladies attended. An excellent topic on "The Church and its meaning Mn several ways' was prepared by Mrs, Fred Real and read by Mrs. Alan Jackson. The business of the day was concerning giving our par- sonage the new look. Then a pres- entation of handled plates was made to Mrs. Alan Jackson and Mrs. Horace Fair, also one was sent to Mrs. Everett Watson who was not present. These members of the Auxiliary have recently moved from neighborhood to Man- ch , Sunderland and Myrtle, respectively. The ladies made suit- able replies thanking the associ- ation for their gifts. After a talk on Temperance con- ducted by Mrs. Lloyd Lee, the so- cial hour and refreshments which followed were much enjoyed. Other items on the program were a solo by Miss Fockler of Stouffville, and readings by Mrs. Fred Real. Miss Vera Cragg had the misfor- tune on Friday last, to fall and cut her arm badly, requiring some stitches. To Present Play The Brooklin Y.P.U. is presenting its three-act play, "Here Comes Charlie" in Greenbank hall on Fri- day evening, April 30, at 8.30 D.S.T. This is a comedy drama play and you are sure to have an evening of real enjoyment. This will be sponsored by the local Y.P.U Greenbank. On Tuesday night next the C.G. IT. is anticipating a hike. All mem- bers are requested to be present. Mrs. Wm. Sommerville is con- fined to her bed. The community wish her a speedy recovery. Jim Walker, of Toronto, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mr. Beare was interviewed by Jack McPherson over CBL farm broadcast on Wednesday, April 28, on field crop and pasture. Mr, Beare stressed the need of improved permanent pasture lots with the proper type .of seed mix- tures.
