Prayer was offered by the Rev. H. O'Brien and the Scripture reading from Hebrews, Chapter 11, verses 1 to 13 was read by Mr. Arn. old Bowler. A testimony service was led by Mr. Clare Shank. The Rev. H. OBrien, of Bowmanville, was the speaker for the evening. Every. one is invited next Monday evening when a group of students from the Ontario Pentecostal Bible School will be in charge of the meeting. LORE OVER-20 CLUB The Over.20 Club opened membership to new members at the dance held at the Y.W.C.A. on Saturday night, Memberships will be sold for the next three weeks. Mr. Doug, Warren acted as M.C. for the record crowd, The spot dances were won by Miss Blanche Clarke and Mr. 'Merv' Jenkins; Miss Hel- en Petre and Mr. 'Mac' Thomson. LEE IR FIRST BAPTIST Y.P.U. The First Baptist young people held their weekly meeting on Mon- day night with the devotional com- mission in charge. The hymn "How Sweet the Neme of Jesus Sounds" opened the meeting, Miss Lorna Parrott offered prayer. A few min. utes were given to those present to give their favorite verses of scrip- ture. President, Miss Gladys Frise, conducted the routine business and Mrs. L. H. Widmeyer, group leader, presided for the program and introduced the guest speakéef, Mrs, F. T. Darnell of Whitby, who tock as Lier topic "The Gift of the Holy Spirit". In her talk the speaker spoke of "The Holy Spirit" in every day activities, prob. lems, joys and sorrows. Solveig Lunde to Play An All-Chopin Group Solveig Lunde, concert pianist, who is the third artist to appear in the Community Concert series this season and who' will play at the Regent Theatre on Monday next, has chosen an entire group of Cho- pin. The group includes Ballade in F major, Impromptu in G flat major, Waltz in C sharp minor, Nocturne in G major (opus 87, No. 2), Polonaise in F sharp minor and Two Preludes, E minor and G major. She will open her program with a Pastorale in ¥ major by Scarlatti, Toccata in B flat major by Clem- enti and Sonata in F major (opus 10, No. 2) Beethoven, A third group will include the Prelude in C sharp minor of Rach- maninoff, Prelude in C major {opus 12, No. 7) Prokofieff, and two compositions of Debussy, Voiles and L'Isle Joyeuse. _ The program ends with a bril- liant Viennese group including the Fledermaus Waltzes of Johann Strauss, arranged by Grunfeld. Teachers and music students may find more enjoyment in the concert by glancing over the compositions to be performed ahead of time. Laymen may anticipate an evening of unforgetable music.
