Kedron, Feb. 4--Kedron Adult Bible Class members numbering 12 persons faced frozen elements and enjoyed a social evening with Mr. and Mrs. R. E, Lee in their cosy living room on Thursday eve- ning, Miss Luella Hepburn conducted an impiring worship service on the topic "Christian Love." Busi- ness included plans for a box so- cial to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Farndale on the evening of February 20, President R. Lee called on Ever- ett Mountjoy who, on behalf of the Session of the Church, made a neat and appreciative speech and :nade a cash presentation to Mrs. H. A. Werry for faithful and efficient service as church organist and choir leader. Taken quite by sur- prise, Mrs. Werry, nevertheless, made an 'appropriate reply. Mrs. Farndale and Mrs, Lee conducted recreation period which was fol- lowed by chit-chat over coffee cups and a pot luck lunch which could not have been better if pre-ar- ranged. C. F. Werry voiced the vote of thanks to host and hostess which was acknowledged by host. A number of our married couples were guests at a charming party, sts of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. $rooks, Oshawa, on Monday eve- ning. Howard Farndale attended the annual meeting of the Jersey Club in Toronto on Tuesday. Mrs. Farn- dale accompanied him to the city. Messrs. Russell Down, Clar- ence Werry and Harold Werry are 3 Toronto today (Wednesday) for olstein Breeders' Association an- nual meeting, Mrs. Down, Mrs. H. A. Werry, Misses Muriel Werry and Diane Lee are in the city for a day's shopping and to attend Ice Follies at Maple Leaf Gardens. We are sorry to report Mrs. Arthur Hepburn is in Oshawa Hos- ital but hope she may soon be at ome again. Miss Eva Hutchison, Reg.N., staff of Belleville Hospital, spent the week-end with her cousin, Mrs. Harvey Crossman. There were 27 present at Y.P.U. Sunday evening - when Robert Werry presented the topic "Christ and the Antidote of Hatred." Next Sunday evening Edwin Down will conduct the worship service and Mariin Mountjoy will give the ic. he Y.P.U. social evening was a Jolly event of Friday night. Miss Grace Scott attended a china shower for Miss Beverley Thompson, Miss Betty Gibbs, Osh- awa, hostess. Also a trousseau tea for Miss Thompson, on Saturday afternoon. Miss Thompson is a bride of this week. We have still to be grateful for good roads and though we have been 'a bit depressed by the con- tinued drop in temperature, we have appreciated the bright sun- shine.
