A member writes: "I have a few questions that have stumped my while club, We would like it very much if you would please answer these questions in your column, I have known a cer- tain boy for over #aree years. We are in the same classes, sit near each other, ride on the same school bus and have a lot of fun. I have enjoyed dating him, too. "The other night he gave me his ring to wear. I accepted it and have worn it on my left hand. I date other boys often and enjoy being with them just as much or even more than him, What does it mean to wear a boy's ring? Nothing was sald when he gave me the ring. He merely took it off, handed it to me, and I put it on. Should I date only him? Does he have the right to think we are 'going steady'? We are re...y stumped." Wearing a boy's ring on your right hand means that you're his steady date. Whether you date others, too, is up to you and him ta decide. When you wear a boy's ring on your left hand, it usually means more than "going steady'-- that you have "an understanding" and are or soon will be engaged. Other boys are likely to stop dat- ing & gir! with a ring on her third- finger-left-hand, taking it for gran- ted that she's "going steady" or en- gaged, so it would be a good idea to have a frank talk with this boy to find out exactly what wearing his | ring means to him--and. to you. It would have been wiser to talk it over with him before you accepted it, As it is now, the ring may mean little or a lot. By wearing it on your left hand, you risk losing dates with other boys, so why not decide whe. ther you want to be his steady date before giving the impression that you are?. Personal matters like this should be kept private between you and the boy. It's bad taste and a breach of confidence to discuss it with your whole club, / ACTOR WEDS London, Jan, 14--(AP)--David Ni- ven, the British film actor, will be married today to Mrs. Tjordis Ters- meden, former Stockholm manne- q Niven, 37, met his fiancee here six weeks ago while working on a film.
