Local Sea Cadets Enjoy Annual Christmas Party With the officers the rat- ings, in the Navy's traditional Christmas style, the Oshawa Sea Cadets of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, "Sir Francis Drake", were tendered their annual Christ- mas party last evening, at St. George's Parish Hall, A hundred "all ranks", were en- tertained by the Kiwanis Club's "Sea Cadet Committee", headed by Chairman Fred W. Kitchen and as- sisted by Kiwanians Fred Moés and Harold Armstrong. The officers and committee members waited on the tables, serving the fine dinner pre- pared by the ladies of St. George's Women's Guild. Following the meal, which the young sailors "sighted and sank same", special awards for all-round efficiency were presented by Com- manding Officer, Lieut. G. H. Camp- bell, R.CS.C. These awards, based on attendance, neatness, co-opera- tion and example to others as well as for efficient work, highlights of the year's work for the young Cadets. Cadets Irvine, Baker and Albert Pritchard each received the official R.CS.CC. Drake" crests, large colored insignia to be worn on "civvy" sweaters or 'windbreakers.
