Lee, led the service of song at Raglan Sunday evening and were later entertained at Mr. Roy Rateliffe's, Miss Eileen Stainton, fon, assisted with the anthems and L256 two solos, supplying for Miss ty Scott, who was absent on ac- count of bereavement. Win Speaking Shield We extend congratulations to Marilyn Leask who won first place at Orono Friday evening, competing with 19 other speakers from Dur- ham schools, Dr. L. B, Williams, 'Toronto, made the presentation of the shield which Marilyn will hold for a year and also extended an in- vitation to her to address the Dur- ham Olub. November meeting in "Toronto. Marilyn goes to Brighton 'Nov. 15 for higher honors. Mr, and Mrs, W. J. Leask attend- ed the contest at Orono, enjoying 'the fine program. Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Wray and children were Sunday tea guests with Mrs. Emma Roberts and fam- ily. Alfred, Laura and Gertie Wray Attended Almonds Sunday School as guests of the family. The Y.P.U. held a social evening at W. L. Mountjoy's on Monday with over 30 in attendance. Miss Evelyn Hepburn conducted the worship service, Lunch was served .and a friendship hour enjoyed.
