E, Billett on Wed- nesday afternoon when a number of ladies were engaged in various kinds of sewing. A short business meeting was conducted by the group leader, Mrs, E, H, Cole. A special collection was taken for articles contained a box of useful things sent overseas to the needy. The hostess served enjoyable - refresh- ments including a cup of tea. BROWN : Correspondent Brougham, Nov, 4--The firemen sponsored a Hallowe'en dance on Thursday eve, The ordinary Hallo- we'en activities were indulged in by the younger set, chaperoned by some elders, but the usual rowdy activitieg were again in evidence including elderly ladies having their property molested. It 1s to be hoped no boys of the community had a part in such disgusting work considering it Hallowe'en pranks, Mr. and Mrs. E. Crocker visited Mrs, L, Mathews last week. Mr, Pond, of Long Branch, has been with the R. Malcolm family the past week. Miss Annie Malcolm and. other Toronto friends visited Miss Mar- garet Duncan on Sunday. John Miller was under his doctor's care last week-end. Mrs, A. Mohun of Toronto was a recent visitor with her aunt, Miss Ida Bate. Mrs. Tom Sharp, of Greenbank, visited her aunt, Mrs. Brown, on Monday, October 28. Brougham friends of Mrs. Mina McMaster of Greenbank will regret to learn that she is at present a patient of St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto. Week-end guests of Ralph and Mrs, Crawford were Mr. and Mrs. John Wells and little daughter, Lin. da, of Toronto. : Messrs, Grant Johnston and Francis Willson were among those who went to see the Cavalcade and hear Bob McClure at Oshawa. Mrs. Norton was a leader of the western section on W.M.S. day on Tuesday.
