Thornton's Corners, October 8-- The monthly i1.eeting of the Wo- men's Association was held on Wed- nesday afternoon, October 2. The vice-president, Mrs. E. Pope con- ducted the meeting which opened with a hymn and prayer followed by. the worship period. Mrs. G. Robinson took the Scripture read- ing. 'Mrs. Douglas Lander favour- ed with a solo--"The 23rd psalm." The guest speaker, Mrs. Fursey of Oshawa gave a very interesting talk on the 23rd Psalm. Mrs, D. ~ Lander again favoured with a love- ly solo--"The Sunshine of your smile." Following the singing of another hymn the meeting closed with the benediction. A social halif- hour was then enjoyed while re- freshments were sepved by the com- mittee. The reuglar monthly meeting of the Home and School Association | __ will be held on Wednesday even- ing, October 9, at 8 p.m. A special program is being prepared for this meeting and a good attendance of mothers and fathers is requested.
