The oldsters started off in a big way in the first inning with nine runs crossing the plate before the third man wag out. In the West mount half of the first inning only two runners crossed the plate, while Bradd got as far as second, Then came the big inning for Westmount, Six runs crossed the plate and a runner was again left on second before the Northeri: lads could get the all important batter out. North Oshawa went down in order in their half of the second innings. The third inning saw the visitors pull out in front with two runs cross- ing the plate making the score ten to nine. The North Oshawa team came back to tle it up in their half of the inning, Westmount hit their stride again in the fourth when they picked up another three runs while the North boys went down in order, This was a repeat of the third inning as it was the same bat- ters that went down one, two, three, During the fifth Westmount again picked up three runs to make the game theirs while the still fighting homesters managed to pick up one run with another man left on base. By this time darkness had fallen and the game was called with West- mount the victors, For North Oshawa Morey crossed the plate three times while Am- brose rounded home twice. Childerhouse was big guns for Westmount scoring three times and being left on base twice. W. A, Holds First Social The home of Mrs. R. Nicks was the scene of a first in a series of soc fals in ald of the Women's Associa- tion of the Westmount United Church last Tuesday evening, Aug. 24. The prize-winners during the most pleasant evening were Mrs, C. Gilliland, Mrs, T. Neal and Mrs, McCoy. During the evening a very nice lunch was served by Mrs, R. Nicks, assisted by her mother, Mrs, Shewbridge. The second social of the Women's Association held at the home of Mrs, R. Mchmond on Tuesday night. The prize winners this week were, Mrs. C. Gilliland, Mrs. Davies and Mrs, C, McInroy. Mrs, W. Nisbet and Mildred McClimond helped Mrs, R. McClimond serve the tasty lunch. Mrs, C. Love will be the hostess at the next social to be held at her home next Tuesday night. The As- sociation hopes a large number of ladies will turn out for the night's enjoyment and also help the worthy cause in the church, Don't forget the next Community Night at Radio Park which will take place a week from Friday.
