"THE OSHAWA DAILY TIMES, THURSDAY, PAGE EIGHT SLT THE OSHAWA DAILY. TIMES, THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 29, 1932 Greenwood (Continued from page 7) echoes from the branch board- meeting held last week, and Mrs Young, of Toronto, gave an inspir- ing address. Mrs. Thompson, of Brooklin, and Mrs. J. L. Pegg, of Greenwood, rendered solos which were appreciated by all present. After the programme all remain- ed for a social half hour together. Next Sunday, owing to commun- jon service being in the Kinsale Church at eleven o'clock, there will be no church service in the Green- wood church. The Sunday School will meet at 9.45 so that those wishing to go to Kinsale will have time to get there. The Victoria Square Young Peo- ple are giving their drama "Mary's Castle" in the Greenwood Church this Friday evening. A. Davis was at Sarnia over the week-end getting repairs for his tractor which broke down last Sat- urday. The W.M.S. will meet at the home of Mrs. V, Parkin on Thurs- day afternoon, October 6th, with Mre. W. W. Gee's group in charge of .the programme. The od carpenter shop at Salem Corners is being taken down an some general improvements made on Mrs. F. Harbron's house now occupied by Mr. I. Connors. Myrtle Station (Mrs. C. Harrison, Correspondent) Myrtle Station, Sept. 27--Rally Day service was well attended, and all enjoyed a good program. We hope our Sunday School members will all eome back and fill our classes up again, as they usually do at this time of year. Church service next Sunday will be at 7 p.m. Everybody welcome. Mrs. S. A. Long spent a few days of last week with Mrs. Wil- d | nounced son, of Brooklin. A large number from here at- tended the School Fair in Brooklin last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Beacock attended the Blackstock Fair on Wednes- day last. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Launtz, of Toronto, were visitors at the home of the latter's sister, Mrs. Oliver Lane, last week. Mr. Andrew Engles and Mr. Louis Hill, of Orillia, were visitors at C. Harrison's on Wednesday last. This town was well represented at the Lindsay Fair last Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Bradley, of Brooklin, and Mr. Rogers, of Whit- by, were recent visitors with old friends here. Mr. Herbert Justin, of Orillia, was a business caller here on Sat- urday. Mrs. C. Holman, of Ashburn, and Mrs. L. L. Ross, of Prospect, also Mr. and Mrs. Hunter, of Toronto, were Sunday visitors at Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Dickson's. Mrs. Hunter remained for the week. Next week we expect the W. M. S. will have a "Pot Luck Supper," in the basement of the church. The exact date we expect to be an- on Sunday. Everybody welcome. But remember the idea of "Pot Luck" is that nobody knows what the other person brings for supper. It may happen to be plain, or it may be fancy. That is where the fun comes in. The threshing season is about finished around these parts. Next comes the silo filling. As usual Mr, Robt. Heron took the lead and fill- ed his on Saturday. Mr. Heron gets the name of being a good farmer and always keeps up with his work, but if you want to see a good piece of corn, just take a drive up the side-road. Farm activity in the Nether-| lands is expected to speed up | shortly.
