After opening hymns and prayer, led by Rev. W. Smythe, the pastor, referred to the rally as a fitting way to com- memorate the life and services of Rev. Mre. Stirling, who chal- lenged the young people to carry on, she having passed beyond, a year ago. The choir, with Mrs. R, Brown presiding, favored with a quar. tette by boys. A duet was sweetly sung by Trewin and Helen Scott, after wheh five young people, who had attended summer school at Oak Lake, near Stirling, gave a full re port of programg carried out dur- ing the week they attended. Mr. Bill Brown spoke on 'General Outline of the Summer School." Evelyn Hobbs gave a fine talk on "The Challenge of the Summer School" to our league. Miss K. Stark gave the torch- light dedication service. Miss Betty Rowe gave the friendship and sunset service. Miss Edith Grull spoke on "What the Summer School Meant to Me." All were well listened to. Then followed the installation of the officers for the coming year, each one coming to the front of the church and taking the pledge of fidelity to the league and work of the society in leading others to the fuller life in Christ. All 40 | joined hands in a complete circle around the aisles, the pastor leading in a very solemn dedica- thry service. Manila, P.l.. schools and col- leges have started a campaign to give all illiterates of the city an opportunity to acquire an educa- tion, PILES Ended Without Cu'ting or Salves If you think a surgical opera- tion is the only way to get rid of itching, bleeding or protrud- ing Piles, it's because you haven't heard of the harmless internal medicine discovered by a promin- ent western physician. After years of study, Dr. J. 5. Leonhardt found the cause of Piles to be internal---congestion of blood in the lower bowel--the hemorrhoidal veins flabby; th: bowe] walls weak; the parts al- most dead. Right away the doctor set to work to find a real inter nal remedy. He succeeded, and after prescribing . it for 1000 patients, with success in over 900 cases, he named his prescription HEM-ROID. The doctor wants every Pile sufferer to benefit by his dias- covery, and so there will 'be no doubting or delay Jury & Lovei! and druggists everywhere are au- thorized to sell HEM-ROID with guarantee of money-back "if ii does not end Piles in any teria.
